We want to tell you about our drift team!
Evil Empire - drift team from the city of St. Petersburg, which is popular all over the world and collected the best and progressing drifters! Team Evil Empire was formed in autumn 2009 in St. Petersburg. Initially, it united the various extreme sports, being a company-distributor and fashionable gathering at the same time. And then the Evil Empire offered the best pilots of the city to take part in competitions under his name in the rather new for our country kind of autosports - drifting. The team includes three drifters, who showed himself very well in many competitions of last years. It is Oleg Tsaplik - one of the founders of the Russian drifting, Felix Chitipahovyan and Maxim Tvardovsky, who came from the legendary team Miami. Debut of our team took place in 2010 at the first stage of the new drift championship - Russian Drift Series. Evil Empire pilots take part in various drift series, not limited only Russia.
Evil Empire has a large set of team souvenirs: hats, shirts, hoodies, stickers, fridge magnets, flags and other pleasant things.
In 2011 Felix Chitipahovyan won first place of Russian Drift Series and the team became the champions!
The phrase evil empire was applied especially to the Soviet Union and by U.S. President Ronald Reagan, who took an aggressive, hard-line stance that favored matching and exceeding the Soviet Union's strategic and global military capabilities, in calling for a rollback strategy that would, in his words, write the final pages of the history of the Soviet Union. The characterization demeaned the Soviet Union and angered Soviet leaders; it represented the rhetorical side of the escalation of the Cold War.
Reagan's March 8, 1983 speech to the National Association of Evangelicals in Orlando, Florida is his first recorded use of the phrase "evil empire." Reagan said:
So, in your discussions of the nuclear freeze proposals, I urge you to beware the temptation of pride, the temptation of blithely declaring yourselves above it all and label both sides equally at fault, to ignore the facts of history and the aggressive impulses of an evil empire, to simply call the arms race a giant misunderstanding and thereby remove yourself from the struggle between right and wrong and good and evil.
Reagan's phrase "evil empire" was used in numerous other contexts. For example, meant for the Galactic Empire in Star Wars. At the same time on the sides of cars painted characters from this film!
